4. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

5. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. We keep contact form submissions indefinitely for customer service and legal purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you.  Site data is stored in LA, in the United States of America with hostwithlove.com.  This means your data may be unintentionally and unbeknownst to us able to be accessed under the terms of the United States of America and their laws.  Additionally, we at times may need to grant developers that are performing technical services for us temporary access as administrators.  Administrators have access to our website and it’s data.

10. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.  All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

11. What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. Where we send your data – This site is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site is shared with a service provided by ithemes.com. 16.5 Source: WP Smush

Note: Smush does not interact with you. The only input option Smush has is to a newsletter subscription for site admins only. If you would like to notify your users of this in your privacy policy, you can use the information below.  Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimise them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.  Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, Location and ISP info of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here.  Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator’s email address is sent to Drip and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.

This site utilises caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.

Google Web Fonts – For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. We use a plugin called “Super-socializer” to allow people to engage social media in interacting with us.  We tightened up who can register here fairly tightly to control unsafe spam.  Using this plugin allows us to have “vetted” users leave comments and is convenient, but you don’t have to use this to leave a message and comment on the blogs.  If you do log in with social media, we collect your public profile data only from your consent that you grant before initiating Social Login, from the social network used to login at our website. This data includes your first name, last name, email address, link to your social media profile, unique identifier, link to social profile avatar. This data is used to create your user profile at our website. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending us an email, we can delete your account.

We embed Facebook Comments plugin to allow you to leave comment at our website using your Facebook account. This plugin may collect your IP address, your web browser User Agent, store and retrieve cookies on your browser, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the commenting interface, including correlating your Facebook account with whatever action you take within the interface (such as “liking” someone’s comment, replying to other comments), if you are logged into Facebook.
