The Saxon Astroseeker Mount with a Steel Tripod provides exactly the tool that you need when you have a optical tube assembly (OTA) already, and just want the great features of a solid, time tested, trusted mount that you can use to engage in solid viewing.
The Saxon AstroSeeker is fully automatic and has a pre-installed library of 42,900+ objects so you definitely won’t run out of things to look at. It will save you a lot of time and effort. To top it off, it’s wifi enabled – grab the app, and automate it. You could even attach a wifi camera and watch the whole thing on TV. But you wouldn’t do that …. would you? Here’s the way to get the most out of it:
- Either use your own or purchase the OTA that you wish. As long as it has a Vixen bar, you will be able to attach it.
- Set up the Astroseeker, and attach your Telescope Tube.
- Run the alignment procedure, so that the Astroseeker knows where it is. This is done by a “wizard” where you point the scope at some easy to find stars.
- Tell the Astroseeker where you want it to ‘go’. It will automatically skew to the target and track it.
For photographing the Moon or planets, you can simply connect your DSLR with the telescope with a T-adapter and T-ring (not included). Even better, you can also attach an astro camera so you can please the crowd with impressive pictures of the sky.
