Well,the first thing I’ll say was that finding an azimuth post (dowel)for an EQ6 Skywatcher/Saxon from a shop online in Australia was more difficult than you would think….lucky for me I found Astrodog who had them in stock!
To my surprise the dowel turned up in the post the next day via express post at no extra charge to me so thanks guys….much appreciated.
Ah but the story doesn’t end there, because not only was I sent the Skywatcher/Saxon dowel but Marcel & Nadine…..the owners of Astrodog also sent me there own manufactured dowels, free of charge to try out…..cool so I removed the bolt I used….which didn’t work well at all by the way and installed the Astrodog dowel.
A few things to note about It.
1: Made from stainless steel and shape and size identical to Skywatcher/Saxon one.
2: Extremely well machined.
3: It also had a nut on the threaded part of the dowel that screws into the pier or tripod which gave you the ability to position the post where you need It.
4: Very reasonable pricing and great service.
So what did I think of It? great idea and worked extremely well.
In ending this review I would also like to add how much Of a pleasant experience It was shopping with Astrodog and I would not hesitate to shop there again.
