Kson AZ3 Mount with Steel Tripod (M)

Description

The Kson AZ3 Alt-Azimuth mount is popular with astronomers and terrestrial observers alike.  The movements are smooth and controllable, with a counterweight supplied to balance loads of up to about 4kg.  It is a particularly easy design to erect, with a simple push/pull motion and then lowering the locking collar.  Takes a few seconds to set up, with no irritating center tray to set up.

Particularly notable is its double saddle, a feature usually not available at this price point.  Astronomy telescopes attach directly to the mount via a standard Vixen-type dovetail bar.

Review : “We’re running a Skywatcher ED100 Evo off this as the quick set up option. I was looking for something cheap that tucked tge boxes and this delivered. For a cheaper stand, it’s hitting its limits on that but it’s great value. It’s sturdy and sets up very fast. You can move both it and the scope easily with one hand under each. The legs and main body are excellent. It spins quickly, is easy to aim up. If this had an alloy head with better screw lock or a block and the alt az toggles were alloy this’d get 5 stars even if it added $100 to the price. This would run perfect with a 60 or 72 refractor.
